The Sportsmen's Hunt.The Result of a Day's Sport - Count of the Game.The annual fall hunt of the Omaha Sportsmen's club hunt took place on Wednesday, and the members scoured the country far and wide in search of game which was found to be rather scarce-much more so than was expected. The club hunted in sides, one being composed of Captain Z.T. Sprigg, Dr. Peabody, John Withnell, George Mills, W.J. Lard, W.H.S. Hughes, G.F. Brucker, Mr. Preston, Gen. Crook and John Petty, and the other being composed of Capt. F.H. Blake, H.A. Homan, M.W. Kennedy, J. Budd, S.B. Hathaway, R.W. Withnell, B.E.B. Kennedy, and John McCaffrey. Gen. Crook and John Petty, who went out to Schuyler and hunted along the Platte, struck a bonanza in geese. Mr. Petty made the largest score of all-259 points, and Gen. Crook next-199 points. S.B. Hathaway made the third highest-144 points, and Capt. Sprigg followed with 120. Capt. Sprigg's side scored 917, and Capt. Blake's side scored 377. The club supper will take place this evening at Wirth's restaurant. The game will be served up in every variety, and the hunters will relate their experiences.
